![]() I was previously running a Dolphin X40 plus which I was forever cleaning the impeller which involved unscrewing the unit to acces it. You make think your pool looks clean, but you'll be amazed at the amount of gunk the Robo-plus extracts. * Ease of cleaning - definitely top marks here, with no fiddly parts to worry about. Placing it in and removing it from the pool are simple - no bulging biceps required! * Ease of use - the caddy/trolley means it's easy to take it to and from the pool. Do yourself a favour and get one you'll wonder why it took so long to make that decision! I'd estimate the amount of time spent on pool maintenance is only about 20% of what it was pre-Robo-plus. Our pool always looks sparkling clean now, but of course correct chemical balance is essential. It has generally been used twice a week, sometimes on a half-hour cycle other times for an hour depending on the amount of tree litter blown in by the wind. We bought a Robo-plus in early January 2022 and the difference it has made has been nothing short of astonishing. For several years as a consequence, we've never had a consistently clear pool. ![]() ![]() We have a pebble-mix pool base, with plenty of surrounding vegetation. Well done Robo-Tek - this is a really good product. In my situation, it would be preferable to have the cable attach to the side of the control box.Īnyway, these things are relatively minor in the scheme of things given I now have 10 times the cleaning power in quarter of the time. If I mount it in my filter box cabinet (where the M4 control box was), it becomes really difficult to use because the screw-in attachment for the cable is underneath the control box. Due to my set up, I chose not to mount the control box on the caddy. Maybe it's user error, maybe it's more practice needed, but it's not as easy as I would have hoped. I was looking forward to having a remote control (to direct the robot onto the aforementioned ledge if needed), but the Robo-Plus darts around and changes direction so frequently that I find the remote almost impossible to use. I haven't stood there and watched it for an hour long cycle, but I'm not sure it goes over the ledge as well as I would have hoped. From a cleaning perspective, I could not ask for any more. It shoots around the pool like it's on a mission to devour every bit of debris that's in the pool. I've never seen the pool looking cleaner. In fact, it was picking up material that was still there from when I had the coping around the pool replaced 16 months ago. In the first half hour of usage, it picked up more debris than the M4 had in probably years. After reading up about the Robo-Plus and other brands in a similar price bracket, I decided to go ahead and buy the Robo-Plus and I couldn't be happier. A bit of research led me to the Robo-Tek website. With some replacement parts needed for the M4, I started thinking whether I was better off replacing it. The M4 seemed to spend a lot of time going back and forth across the deepest part of my pool and often left a lot of small leaves behind, which was incredibly frustrating. I'd previously been using a Dolphin M4 that was probably 5 seasons old. I purchased a Robo-Tek Robo-Plus in early January 2022.
